Strengthen Our Local Economy

✔ Diversify the economy, lower taxes, remove burdensome regulations. Montgomery County relies too heavily on the federal government and is burdened with non-tax paying organizations.  LD 16 Delegates vote routinely for legislation harmful to profit-making businesses. In fact, Montgomery County’s delegation is ranked as the least business friendly of all Maryland’s 23 county delegations. 
 
✔ Promote transit by expanding the American Legion Bridge, I-270 and I-495 and remove bike lanes on major arteries.
 
✔ Dissolve the county’s wholesale liquor monopoly so restaurants, hotels and caterers can purchase directly from distributors not from the county government and enable them to bring conventions and large events to the county.
